How Safe Is White Water Rafting?
White water rafting like any adventure activity carries with it inherent risks, both from being in a river environment and from pre-existing medical conditions you may have. All participants must wear the supplied life jackets and helmets, and you will not be permitted to raft if we detect you are under the influence of drugs or alchohol (no refund applies).
River Medics
Raging Thunder also takes the extra step of training select senior guides as Emergency Medical Technicians, who carry special kits on-board their rafts and who review your medical questionnaire. This enables us to keep white water rafting as safe as possible for people from all nationalities and walks of life, while still allowing everyone to experience the thrill of rafting.
Liability Waiver and Medical Questionnaire
Prior to your white water rafting trip you will be required complete a medical questionnaire and sign our liability waiver (either online or on paper). The Liability Waiver forms part of the contract, which can be viewed here in PDF Format. If you have already booked your rafting trip, you can complete your medical questionnaire online.
Amongst other things, the Liability Waiver provides that you agree to exclude all statutory warranties and guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and release indemnify and discharge Raging Thunder of all liability for any act or omission caused by negligence, breach of contract or otherwise, to the extent permitted by law.
